About Our Team
Our SeaPerch team, the Oceanus Titans, is a student-led robotics team consisting of students from various middle and high schools located in Sugar Land, Texas. Our team is composed of innovative and skilled engineers who are dedicated to showcasing our journey with their underwater robot, the Aubrey Jr. ROV. Through careful designing, testing, and unwavering teamwork, our team has created an exceptional ROV that is able to navigate through difficult obstacles and waters. Our progress reflects team commitment and passion. As Oceanus Titans explores the depths of aquatic explorations, they continue to learn, pursue, and persevere through any challenges they face.
Our Team
Isha Marakani
Isha Marakani is a rising high school sophomore, adamant about being the best leader she can be for her team. She had a background in engineering at a young age, when during elementary school she was a part of the coding robotics club. She furthered her interest in junior high, enrolling in engineering courses to create Lego robots, gliders, model bridges, three-dimensional aeronautical kites, and other engineering escapades. It was in eighth grade that she was introduced to seaperch and inspired to create her team in the future. In her first year of high school, she looked into drones, took advanced classes to become fluent in Java, and started the team, Oceanus Titans. All through this she has had an avid passion for music, including classical Indian carnatic singing and her mahogany cello.
Cayden Chan
Cayden Chan is a rising sophomore in high school, dedicated to finding issues revolving around our world and researching possible solutions. This is his second year in the SeaPerch community, and his efforts towards the team effectively places him as co-leader today. As of currently, he is both interested in pursuing either engineering or medicine. During school, he has participated in Junior Achievement, Student Council, Elkins Tennis Team, Elkins Red Cross, and Elkins Debate. Outside of school, Cayden is currently a Senior Patrol Leader of his Boy Scout troop, staffing for National Youth Leadership Training, volunteers, and actively sells vocab cards for kids to improve in their vocabulary. Cayden’s experience with public speaking, leadership, and business allows him to be confident and effective when helping the team raise funds. His impact toward his community has shown his significant efforts in building a better environment for all.
Isaac Leung
Isaac Leung is a rising sophomore in Elkins High School who is dedicated to robotics and engineering. He seeks to not only focus on himself, but to also impact his surroundings by becoming a creative designer in engineering, chemical engineering, or a sports player in the future. This will be his second year in SeaPerch and plans to commit to it. Throughout the school year, he is an active member in Elkins Full Orchestra, Chess Club, competes in the VEX competition, and First Tech Challenge. Outside of school, he has been participating in judo for 11 years, piano for 7 years, and an active member in the district’s international orchestra tour Music has taught him the factor of rhythm and dedication to pursue in his hard work. Isaac’s experience in innovative extracurriculars and music allows him to be our main innovative, creative designer for the Oceanus Titans. His impact towards the team with his amazing driving skills and innovative designs helped the team have a successful ROV!
Anya Ho
Anya Ho is a rising sophomore in high school, dedicated to making an impact towards her community. This is her second year competing in SeaPerch, where she plays a major role in noting the teams’ reports and notebooks, as well as helping out in other aspects. Anya is currently interested in earning a major in civil or mechanical engineering. In school, she is an active participant in Junior Achievement, Science Olympiad, Technology Student Association, and Student Council. With the extra time in her day, she utilizes it towards volunteering events, such as a program led at her local church to helping low income families, and spreading instrumental music in numerous senior facilities. Through these activities, she has learned to effectively communicate with others, as well as work greatly in a group manner. Her passion for the STEM field allows her to further gain her knowledge by working to her greatest potential and achieve beyond limits.
Kyle Ren
Kyle Ren is a rising freshman in high school who is interested in a career in engineering. This is his second year competing in seaperch. His role on the team is mainly hardware, from building motor sets to constructing the ROV with Issac. Outside of school, he has participated in the VEX IQ Robotics Competition and has placed into internationals seven times and won 1st place in the FBISD Robotics challenge last year. Through these competitions, he hopes to gain immense amounts of experience in engineering and teamwork. These skills will help him excel in the future, allowing for a career in electrical engineering to be possible.
Olivia Huynh
Olivia Huynh is a rising sophomore in high school, who enjoys learning, experiencing new things, and helping others out. This is her first year competing in SeaPerch and she is excited to embark on this journey moving ahead. Not only does Olivia take pride in the clubs within the school including the Technological Student Association, her tennis team, and Junior Achievement, but she also has a long history in swimming for the First Colony Swim Team and has a great passion for the viola. Giving back to the community is a key principle that Olivia continues to hold as she volunteers for the Houston Food Bank every year. Throughout her life, Olivia has had a strong tendency to help others out which led her to want to study Anesthesiology in the future. The experiences Olivia has had due to her activities and hobbies have shaped her personality and the way she interacts with her teammates, whether it be communicating with others, solving issues within a short amount of time, delegating responsibilities to ensure that goals are met, or showcasing characteristics of hard work and resilience.
Anshul Subramanian
Anshul Submaranian is a rising sophomore dedicated to a myriad of activities, both in the community and online. During his time at Elkins, he was extremely motivated to achieve high scores in the Anatomy and Physiology category of Elkins Science Olympiad, as well as that, he was extremely engaged in the Elkins Engineering Academy. Most notably, he participated in Elkins VEX robotics eloquently enough to be selected top 15 out of the 100 members in the club to work in FTC robotics. Outside of school, he is a dedicated volunteer for the nearby Houston Methodist Hospital. Also, he is extremely competent in web development, having made a website for his nonprofit, Hoops for Hope. On the side, he also learns how to code and manipulate AI and ML algorithms for a career in startups that he wants to achieve. He has been extremely dedicated to learning options trading on the stock market, to open up other viable career paths, such as investment banking or venture capital. He has played a pivotal role in the SeaPerch team, as he has been head of advertising for the team to potential sponsors, despite it being his first year on the SeaPerch circuit. He plays a significant role on the team as the tether, with the skills of hand-eye coordination. Finally, his love for basketball, Formula 1, and Hinduism allows him to bond with others and make new connections expeditiously.
Sriya Tammana
Sriya Tammana, a rising freshman in high school, is interested in earning a degree in medicine. Outside of school, she takes pride in classical dance, and volunteering at clinics and food shelters. As a Co-Founder of Medical Club, she is able to put her extraordinary public speaking and demonstration skills to good use. As a selected member of her robotics team, Sriya participated with Ira and Sri Sukta in the FBISD Robotics competition and made the top three teams in her district. Concurrently, she worked at ClubSciKids, inspiring kids with the wonders of science. During the weekends, she makes it a point to get involved in NJHS and enjoys contributing to volunteering and donation events.
