About Us
Our SeaPerch team, the Oceanus Titans, is a student-led robotics team consisting of students from various middle and high schools located in Sugar Land, Texas. Our team is composed of innovative and skilled engineers who are dedicated to showcasing our journey with their underwater robot, the Aubrey Jr. ROV. Through careful designing, testing, and unwavering teamwork, our team has created an exceptional ROV that can navigate through difficult obstacles and waters. Our progress reflects team commitment and passion. As Oceanus Titans explore the depths of aquatic explorations, they continue to learn, pursue, and persevere through any challenges they face.
Meet the Captains
Isha Marakani
Isha Marakani (captain) is a rising high school sophomore, adamant about being the best leader she can be for her team. She had a background in engineering at a young age, when during elementary school she was a part of the coding robotics club. She furthered her interest in junior high, enrolling in engineering courses to create Lego robots, gliders, model bridges, three-dimensional aeronautical kites, and other engineering escapades. It was in eighth grade that she was introduced to seaperch and inspired to create her team in the future. In her first year of high school, she looked into drones, took advanced classes to become fluent in Java, and started the team, Oceanus Titans. All through this she has had an avid passion for music, including classical Indian carnatic singing and her mahogany cello.
Cayden Chan
Cayden Chan is a rising sophomore in high school, dedicated to finding issues revolving around our world and researching possible solutions. This is his second year in the SeaPerch community, and his efforts towards the team effectively place him as co-leader today. Currently, he is interested in pursuing either engineering or medicine. During school, he has participated in Junior Achievement, Student Council, Elkins Tennis Team, Elkins Red Cross, and Elkins Debate. Outside of school, Cayden is currently a Senior Patrol Leader of his Boy Scout troop, staffing for National Youth Leadership Training, volunteers, and actively sells vocab cards for kids to improve their vocabulary. Cayden’s experience with public speaking, leadership, and business allows him to be confident and effective when helping the team raise funds. His impact on his community has shown his significant efforts in building a better environment for all.
